I was looking to refinance Gladly's venture debt from one of the traditional debt providers who offered very little flexibility in the terms of their facility with the evolving needs of a growing startup. I was very impressed with Stifel, their hunger to make an impact on the startup culture in the Bay Area and be true partners to growing companies. Stifel has recently hired some of the best talent from other debt providers and I found their new team to be super cooperative in the negotiation process and competitive across all terms. I feel like Gladly now has a true partner as we grow vs a black and white lender that views us simply as a transaction on their balance sheet. All of this combined with Stifel's tremendous support of Operators Guild means we should all take a close look at them when considering venture debt.
